We pick you up in Kirkenes and drive to our office, where you change into a warm snowsuit. From there it’s a 20-minute drive to Pasvik, where the snowmobile sled is waiting. You sit down on soft reindeer furs and, pulled by snowmobile, we cross the frozen lake towards Namdalen Wilderness Lodge, a secluded farm in the Pasvik Valley. There’s snow-covered forest, a wide open sky, and no lights except our own. If the Northern Lights appear, we stop and watch.
At the lodge you take off your snowsuit and step into our dining hall, a former chicken barn. This is where your dinner is served, course by course, with time for stories about life in the borderland between Norway, Russia and Finland. After dessert we head back by sled across the frozen lake, which gives you one more chance to see the aurora, and then drive you back to Kirkenes.
If you’re looking for a special places to eat in Kirkenes beyond the restaurants in town, this is an alternative. You spend the same hours you would in a restaurant, but with a sled ride, a private table at a cabin in the Pasvik Valley and a dark sky above you.
Get in touch – we’ll help you find the right tour, sort out dates, or put together something that fits your time in Kirkenes. We get back to you quickly.
